The Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward County was honored to attend and support the recent Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Kickoff event, standing alongside community leaders, advocates, and families united in the mission to end impaired driving and support victims.
This powerful movement is deeply personal for board member Heather Geronemus, whose advocacy began after the tragic loss of her father, Dr. Robert Geronemus, to a drunk driver in 2009. Her leadership and unwavering commitment led to the founding of the annual Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale, which since 2011 has raised more than $4 million to fund critical victim services and prevention programs. Her work continues to inspire meaningful change throughout South Florida and beyond.
As a proud sponsor and supporter, the Sheriff’s Foundation of Broward remains committed to advancing initiatives that promote public safety, protect families, and strengthen our community. Our presence at the kickoff event reflects our continued dedication to partnering with organizations like MADD to raise awareness, prevent tragedy, and honor the lives impacted by impaired driving.
We are proud to stand with MADD, Heather Geronemus, and all those working tirelessly to create safer roads and a safer future for Broward County.
